In the misty highlands of Guji, Ethiopia, coffee is more than a crop it’s a culture. Dimtu Coffee Industry PLC embodies this heritage, producing organic specialty Arabica coffee that captures the essence of its origin.

A Legacy of Growth and Collaboration

Founded in 2007, Dimtu began in Hambella and later expanded to Shakiso, managing 151 hectares of estate farmland and working with 776 smallholder out-growers cultivating another 776 hectares. Together, they nurture Guji’s signature floral and fruity coffees that have earned global recognition for their quality and character.

Our Land, Our Coffee

Located in the Guji Zone at 1,950–2,250 meters above sea level, Dimtu’s farms thrive in fertile red loam soil.
Varieties like Tero and Hambella yield coffees scoring 87–88+, renowned for their zesty citrus, floral aroma, and balanced body a true reflection of Guji’s terroir.

Sustainability in Practice

Under a canopy of indigenous trees, Dimtu safeguards biodiversity and soil health. Its nurseries cultivate up to 300,000 coffee seedlings annually, supporting reforestation and farm renewal.
By offering training and incentives, Dimtu empowers farmers to deliver high-quality cherries while improving livelihoods. Shade drying, moisture control, and traceability ensure consistency from batch to batch.

Processing & Excellence

Dimtu’s state-of-the-art facilities in Shakiso and Dukem (near Addis Ababa) include:

  • 6 tons/hour capacity (Dukem Processing Unit)

  • 300 drying beds (Shakiso Wet Mill)

  • Organic Certifications (EU, NOP, JAS, RFA/UTZ)

  • Professional cupping and quality control

Global Reach

Dimtu exports to Germany, the USA, Japan, and beyond, showcasing Ethiopia’s leadership in sustainable specialty coffee. Their rise led by visionary founders Mr. Getachew symbolizes innovation and transformation across Ethiopia’s coffee landscape.

  • Our coffee originates from the highlands of Guji, Ethiopia, in partnership with Dimtu Coffee Industry PLC. Every bean is fully traceable — grown under shade trees, handpicked by smallholder farmers, and shipped directly for cupping and import in Norway.

  • We follow a Nordic–African ESG framework, prioritizing transparency, fair trade, and low-carbon logistics. By collaborating directly with farmers and certified exporters, we ensure that value remains at origin and impact is measurable across every step.
